Man+Van
One item · hand-loaded · door to door

Single item delivery from London to Europe.

This isn’t a parcel courier.

We move the bulky things couriers will not touch: a sofa, a wardrobe, a bed, a fridge-freezer. One item, wrapped and loaded by hand in London, driven to France, Italy, Spain or Portugal, and carried into the property at the other end.

Too big for a parcel. Too small for a removal. That is the gap.

A courier network is built for boxes that go down a conveyor belt. Once something is longer than a person or heavier than one person can lift, it gets refused, or it gets passed between depots and handled by people who have never seen it before. A full removal, on the other hand, is built around a whole household. Booking a van of your own for one sofa rarely makes sense.

Single item delivery sits in between. Your item travels in shared space on a van already heading for that country, so you only pay for the space it takes and the handling it needs. If you are moving more than a couple of pieces, have a look at removals from London for part loads and full vans instead.

Item by item, and how we handle it.

Every item gets blankets, straps and a proper place in the van. The right-hand column is what we need to know from you so the quote is right first time.

Bulky items we deliver from London to Europe, with handling notes
Item How we handle it What to tell us
Sofa or corner sofa Wrapped in blankets and stretch film, feet removed where they unscrew, stood on end only if the frame allows it. Whether it splits into sections, and the narrowest door or turn at the delivery address.
Wardrobe Flat-pack and modular wardrobes are taken apart, with fixings bagged and taped to a panel. Solid pieces travel whole and wrapped. Whether it comes apart, and if it is solid wood. Weight changes the crew size.
Bed and mattress Frame dismantled, headboard wrapped, mattress sealed in a bag so it arrives clean. Bed size, and whether there is a divan base or storage drawers.
Fridge-freezer Travels upright, strapped to the side of the van, doors taped shut. It must be switched off, defrosted and dry before we arrive. We do not disconnect plumbed-in water feeds.
Washing machine Strapped upright and padded on all sides. It must be disconnected and drained first, ideally with transit bolts fitted. We do not do plumbing.
Upright piano A routine job for us. Moved on a piano board with a two-man crew, kept upright. Grand pianos are a separate specialist quote. Every step at both ends. If it has to go in through a window or over a balcony, we book an external furniture lift and put it on the quote. Crane work is outside what we do.
Bike Wrapped, pedals and bars turned or removed, strapped so nothing rubs. A bike box is fine too. If it is an e-bike, so we can check the battery can travel with it.
Boxes from storage Collected from your self-storage unit, counted on loading and counted again on delivery. The storage site address, the unit number and who is authorising access on the day.

One van, several households, one direction.

  1. Your item takes a slot

It travels in shared van space alongside other moves heading for the same country, booked against a run rather than a van of its own.

  2. The run fills up

The van leaves when it has enough going the same way. That is why dates for a single item are a window rather than a fixed day.

  3. Hand delivered

The crew who loaded it carry it into your property at the other end. It is not dropped at a depot for collection.

If the date matters more than anything else, say so on the form. A van of its own is always an option, and we will tell you honestly whether it is worth it for one item.

Show us the item. We price the item.

A single item is quoted from what it is, how big it is and how it gets in and out. Photos are the quickest way to get that across. Put both addresses on the quote form and mention the photos in the notes box, and we will reply with how to send them.

Start the quote form
  • One photo of the item from the front, with something for scale
  • A tape-measure reading of the longest side and the height
  • The way out at the collection: front door, stairs, any tight turns
  • Anything you know about the way in at the delivery address

One item, answered.

  • No. Couriers sort parcels on conveyor belts and refuse anything over a certain size or weight. We move the things that will not go through that system: a sofa, a wardrobe, a fridge-freezer, a bed. Your item is loaded by hand into a van, strapped and wrapped, and carried into the property at the other end by the same crew. It never goes through a sorting hub.

One sofa. One wardrobe. One quote.
